Temporary Winter Night Shelter

Once again this year we will be responsible for hosting the homeless on Friday nights into Saturday in the church hall for six weeks, commencing 2 December.  We are looking for people who would be willing to host at the shifts, these being 7pm-10.30pm (evening), 10pm-6.30am (overnight) and 6am-9am (morning).  There will be a training evening for new volunteers in November.  Contact Revd Peter Holmes for more info or to volunteer revdrock@yahoo.co.uk / 02085463212.

St. Peter's Church Administrator Vacancy

Archway Update

During the summer holidays the builders have been hard at work at Archway, creating a new, smaller room at the back of the Hall.  Unfortunately a few unforeseen problems occurred (don't they always!), so the hall is still not ready for use.  The Toddler Group is now scheduled to restart on Tuesday 4th October at 9.30am and the next After School Family Time will be on Wednesday 19th October at 4.30pm.

Expression, Saturday 15 October 2011

Mothers' Union at St. Peter's

 
Mothers' Union Wave of Prayer: The Mothers' Union worldwide seek to maintain a constant vigil of prayer across the world and on Sunday 14th August it is the turn of our local church to pray from 2-3pm.  If you would like a format of set prayers to aid your prayers at home, ask Peter Holmes for a leaflet, or join him in prayer in the church office at 2pm on Sunday 14th August.

Joel Community Trust

There will be an opportunity for everyone to hear more about the proposed plans for the Joel Community project (www.joelcommunitytrust.org.uk) at the church on the morning of Saturday 10th September.  The Joel Community trustees with Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness will be applying for a change of the use of the church hall and preseneting their plans to the local authority for planning permission in the early autumn.  Come, see and share in that vision.  Contact Peter Holmes for more details (revdrock@yahoo.co.uk / 02085463212).

"In the beginning was the Word..."

 
All Saints Church, Kingston (www.allsaintskingston.co.uk) will be marking the 400th anniversary of the King James version of the Bible on Saturday 17th September, 10am to 7.30pm.  They will be reading short sections of it and celebrating its contribution to the life of our church in England.
