Do not worry

How great is our God
Age to age He stands
The beginning and the end.

Why stress?
Why worry?
God is there before, with and in front
He knows His plans for us

Why stress?
Why worry?
He’s there
He knows
It’s all in His hands
In His control

Therefore
Do not stress
Do not worry

CAROLs CONTEMPLATIONS: Gentle Cleansing

Watching the sea today

As it washed along the rocks

As time after time

The waves broke over the rocks

With a power that was both gentle and strong

I saw a process of change

And renewing.

As water poured into a rock pool

And then retreated

The pool remained

But the water was fresh

Clean

Renewed.

God’s Holy Spirit cleanses in the same way

As the wound is open

The Spirit of God can move in

Gently

Almost indiscernibly

And washes out the hurt and pain

Bit by bit

Gently

Strongly

Filling with the Spirit of God

Cleansing out the pain and hurt

Then slowly

And more and more discernibly

The hurt and pain are no more

But distant memories

For the old has gone

And the new has come

Refreshed

Clean

Renewed

Alive

CAROLs CONTEMPLATIONS: A handful of sand

‘How precious are your thoughts about me, O God!

They are innumerable!

I can’t even count them;

They outnumber the grains of sand!

And when I wake up in the morning you are still with me!’  (Psalm 139:17,18)

That’s a lot of thoughts

More thoughts than I’ve ever had in my life.

Today I picked up a handful of sand

Soft dry sand

I opened my hand and looked at the grains of sand

All different

How many grains of sand did I have in my hand?

Hundreds?

Thousands?

And that was only one handful out of the

Huge expanse of beach that I could see before me

And that is barely a fraction

Of all the grains of sand

In the whole wide world

I didn’t even try to count the grains of sand in my hand

It would have taken a life time

And I would probably lose count.

Too many in that small handful

Let alone the whole of creation

God’s thoughts are that many

That’s mind blowing

That’s comforting

That’s amazing

That’s indescribable

That’s infinitely, unendingly wonderful;

God thinks that much of me!!

WOW!!
