SCFC reach new heights!

Surbiton Churches Football Club will be playing against ex Man United and England midfielder Lee Sharpe in a charity game at the David Beckham academy. The fixture is part of the Ambassadors in Sport 24 hour match to raise money for football projects in London and South Africa.

SCFC will kick-off at 21.00 on Friday 5th September and we need your support.

We are still recruiting players, so if you want to play against Lee Sharpe then join our squad for the new season. Contact us through our website by clicking here or come to training on Tuesday night at Alexandra Rec starting at 18.00. More details can be found on our website.

To play this fixture we have to raise £300 and we hope we can break that target. All the money raised will go to Ambassadors in Sport. You can donate safely through our justgiving website by clicking here.

Follow the links to the club website and the justgiving website to find out more of how the money will be put to work reaching out to youngsters in London and South Africa.

RE ACT in Surbiton

On Sunday 3 August eight churches in Surbiton, including ourselves, are putting on a Re:Act family fun day. A bit like Summer Breeze but bigger, with more attractions and completely free. A team from outside surbiton will be coming aftre 4 Re:Act days in other towns and will then go on to Molesey for a final day. They will be doing a lot of the work and it is still possible to join them for an 11 day mission including training. The aim of the Fun Day is to bless the community from 2-5pm and then from 5.50-7pm there is Church outdoors, an evangelistic meeting with testimonies, dance, etc.

If you are not able to spare 11 days it is possible to join the team for just the one day they are in Surbiton. There is a commitment to be involved from 10am to 8.30pm starting with a briefing and finishing with a free dinner) and a cost of £5. You will be given a packed lunch, evening meal a burger in the afternoon and all the squash you can drink. Wow!

You will have a great time helping and socialising with the rest of the team. Some more information from Re:Act is available here. If you would like to be involved fill in the application form here, and return it by email. Deadline for applications is Thursday 17 July, a week today, even if you cannot get the form to me by then.

Green Fayre

For many years there has been a Green Fayre held in Canbury Park Gardens in Kingston on bank holidaty Monday, this years it is being held on Monday 26th May. The Fayre was a response by concerned people about green issues, global warming, recycling, alternative spirituality, vegetarianism alternative healing etc, some churches got together and wanted to ensure that Jesus was going to be represented at the Fayre, so we set up a prayer tent on the healing fields and offered to pray with people, to massage their feet, offered free cake and fruit, chatted through our beliefs amongst all the others on show and found a great interest with many gratefully recieving prayer and being touchedby the Holy Spirit.  We are again going to be at the Green Fayre this year and are expecting the same response to Jesus as we have seen already, if you want to be part of the team that prays for people you need to contact Andrea on spk@oxygen-online.org .
