One of South West London’s oldest buildings is to play
home to a very modern arts and spirituality project called Sacred Space:
identity during the May half term week.
During
the week anyone frequenting the centre of Kingston
is being invited to come along to All Saints church in the Market Place and
make a model of themselves in plasticine before taking and placing them at the
end of a Sacred Space spiritual prayer path in the churches eastern end. Along
the path they will also be able to engage with different art and prayer
installations, designed to prompt thoughts of identity and interaction with the
world. By the end of the week it is hoped that many will have added themselves
to the end of the prayer path creating a special spiritual representation of
the area and its people.
Sacred Space: identity is the first of a number of
spirituality and art projects being planned by Kingston Borough Christian
charities Oxygen and the YMCA in partnership with local churches. For more
